No worries

1. Tomorrow I have my first post rotation exam and I haven't read one page of notes yet, and I'm not worried. I don't think it can be that bad. After all its pass/fail, I just need a 75 :)
2. I have a new hair color, REALLY HAPPY ABOUT THAT!
3. It's almost Valentine's day and this year unlike last year and the year before and the year before that, I'm not gonna boycott the festivities. I think it's time for a change. So I'm gonna buy my family and friends roses and chocolate (the day after when they go on sale... no need to over do things).
4. Four months til graduation!!!
5. LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Still...

After going through this many times in my life, I still get butterflies in my stomach. Not becasue I am afraid. This is the result of overwhelming joy.

Today is the first day of school. 4th yr in university. Stop looking at me like that! School is fun...on occasions.

I still pack my bag overnight, think about what I should wear, how I'm going to comb my hair. I even think about what I'll have for lunch.

I still wake up hours before its time to get ready and stare at the clock with anticipation.

Thoughts of what the year will be like, all the things I'll learn, all the people I will meet, how much I'll long for the next break after the first week flow in my mind.

There is a pleasant smile fixed on my lips.

This is year I vow to do my best. Try to limit the procrastination. Maybe I'll leave the latter for another time.

Sunday....

• the weather was sooooo nice! after having a very cold week God sent us some sunshine and warmth. my bro and i went for a walk and took pics and crazy videos. was so much fun :-)

Monday....

• Got to see il mio amico carino ed adorabile (my cute and adorable friend... who i will refer to as carino hereafter).

• 1st class was so cool. the professor is absolutely hilarious. she was telling us about how back in the day... long long b4 we were around, the men used to write letters to the women they wanted to be with... and the ladies could tell how much they guys really liked them by the way they closed their letters. if the guy was stuck on 'truly yours' the women were advised to find another man. LOL:-D however, if the guy signed the letter 'truly yours today,always and forever' then he was in looooooooove!!! :-)

• 2nd class... quiz --> bye bye :-D

Tuesday...

• Two horrible exams.

Wednesday...

• NO SCHOOL!!!

Thursday...

• pretty cool lab... got a few winks from the hott TA ;-)

• HALLOWEEN PARTY!!! so... boring old me decided to go to the halloween party with my friends. we didnt dress up cuz we r too cool for that.LOL. but we had lots of fun. I took a shot and wanted a couple more but I had to drive home and my friends weren't drinking so i didnt... good peer pressure :-) plus good girls like me dont drink to get drunk!(everything in moderation) oh yeh and carino was disappointed i drank... :-( . the costumes at the party were pretty cool, although i didnt know wat some ppl were. secret... shhhh... i saw this one dude, i coulda sworn he was dressed up but the poor thing wasnt! i felt so bad afterwards. im still begging God for forgiveness.

• Got pulled over for speeding!60 in a 35 mph zone... (60 is slow for me too. stupid speed limits!!!) but thanks to my clean driving record and the fact that i wasnt drinking that nite ;-) the very sweet cop let me off. God even takes care of his delinquent children.

Friday...

• ANOTHER HALLOWEEN PARTY!!! the professors in my department are so cool man... most of them were dressed up. there was a witch, M&M's, a goddess and a zombie looking woman. the student costumes were nice too. we got goodie bags with lots of candy and other stuff.... yes i attend a UNIVERSITY... a very prestigious one too!!! but our program is so much like high school (except for our actual course work) but im not complaining, being grown up gets boring sometimes.

Saturday...

• Sabbath was great as usual.

• Went to a dinner with my family... had some good Jamaican food!Curry goat and rice and peas.. fried plantains...potato salad... carrot cake...(list is kinda long...think i'll stop here... still full... *sigh*)

So yeh... had a truly great week. Love my new friends thissssssssssssssss much!!! you guys are SOOOOO much fun to hang out with!!! :-)

It's all coming back to me / Living for today

Have you ever had an old love come back into your life and stir up old feelings? You know this person calls you out of the blue or you meet them in the streets and decide to have lunch 'for old times sake' and before you know they have taken your heart back. Didn't even ask if they could have it. Didn't give you the chance to object. It can be a good thing if you are free, single and disengaged but if you are taken, whew... trouble. Luckily for me I have no one... mon ami doesn't count since technically he's only my friend. For once I'm not even mad about it. Don't get me wrong I'm not over him... at all... but I loving him as my friend, not complicating things with wanting more. I am accepting what is. He'll always have a special place in my heart. Might even be my best man... LOL :-D But I am welcoming back my old love with open arms!!! Been missing him for too long to let him go again!!! And no I'm not jumping of the cliff just yet... I'm taking it slow. Enjoying the ride. I am no longer gonna dream about the future so much that I miss out on the present. Another day isn't guaranteed so I'm living for today :-)

My mother met him and SHE LOVES HIM!!!!

My mother is a very sweet person, she's totally awesome and she is VERY protective off her offsprings which can be translated into her being strict.

She has never really met mon ami and of course she was skeptical, ' I have to meet him!' So today was the day. I was so anxious, scared, nauseated. I mean if she didnt like him my life would be bad I'm so crazy about him I dont want to hear that we cant be friends. But she met him and she adores him which is TOTALLY AWESOME!!! They talked for a loooong time and joked ... she even invited him over again, she's even gonna cook for him!!! I'm still in shock. I mean I figured she'd like him just not this much. Too bad I can marry him :-(

All in all... Praise the Lord God Almighty!!!

My summer break hasn't been the best I've had but still it has been great. From the road trips to the belly laughs generated from hanging out with my family to sleeping in, it's been good. Intially I had expected this summer to suck since I had no plans for my free time. I still kinda wish I had a more productive holiday but hey... this works!

Today I got my package from the school I'm supposed to be attending in the fall and I'm sooooooooooooo excited despite the fact that I'll have to wake up at 5 am!!! I'm definitely looking forward to starting school, to being back in the lab. I miss the test tubes, pipettes, and the gloves... ahhhhhh... my happy place second to actual patient care. My schedule is actually very strange and kinda scary but you gotta do what you gotta do, so you can do what you wanna do. I have two classes per day!!! sounds good huh? well..... one if from 8 30-12 and the other is from 1-4 so they'll be looooong. My butt is already hurting just thinking about it. However, whatever pain that will be the result of being in class that long should be relieved by mon ami's presence. LOL. That's just icing on the cake.

Well, I'm off to enjoy the rest of my vacation.

Thanks to my Rita with whom I had a long convo with yesterday for the first time in weeks and mon ami Homan who just makes me smile by saying 'hey' on AIM, I got it bad...I know,(BTW HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABE *MUAH*), I am no longer depressed. Thanks guys!!! Love u both lots!!!!

80 degrees weather is great !!!

My grandparents are coming from Jamaica to spend a couple weeks with us tomorrow!!! They are gonna bring lots of Jamaican food!!! YAY!!!! And my cousin is here from Florida so we have a full house :-)
