20 year old wisdom...

In my twenty years on this earth I have learned a lot of things. There are many things that I've seen, heard and done that were sooooooooooooo cool and that I'd do again in a heartbeat. And there are things there I've seen, heard, and done that I wish never happened and do not wish to have a replay of.

Things that fall in the ' please replay' category:

  • Spending many days in elementary school staring at my then best friend Nicholas and having him stare back and smile at me. (He was sooooooooooooooo cute)
  • Grade six Christmas concert!!!
  • High school (specific days ONLY)
  • All the 'moments' Neville and I had :-D
  • Homecoming '06.
  • My 16th, 18th, 19th birthday.
  • Rita, Nyketa and I running around Coastal Georgia Community College acting like kids!!!
  • Leadership conference 2006 (I'm still sorry for complaining about the state of the room Rita but it was dirty, and smelly, that was rude, they should've cleaned the room. ooops, still complaing... sorry)
  • Shopping with Rita on Friday afternoons.
  • Hanging out at the pier and Zuzu's. Oh and of course Wally's world.
  • Working at Lung Associates and hanging out with McDreamy at the hospital.
  • Organic Chemistry and Genetics class this past Spring.
  • The time I spent with Homan admiring his intelligence, laughing at his craziness, and braiding his hair.

(there are so much more but I don't have time to list them...)

Things that fall in the 'DO NOT REPLAY' category:

  • Wearing my socks up to knees the first week of high school!!!
  • Slipping and sliding in the mud in the 9th grade in front of Ricardo. (talk about embarassing! I had a HUGE crush on the guy)
  • The day Hilare and Chris printed the evil love poem claiming it was from me to Ricky and distributed it around the entire school!!! I would never write that crap. I write better peotry than that!!!
  • The convo I had with Neville about migrating :-(
  • Prom... 'nuff said

During the past two decades I also learned some very important lessons. Here are a few that I'd like to share with you:

  • Choose your friends wisely the have a GREAT impact on the person your are and the person you will become.
  • Stay close to positive people, people that can help you. Avoid negative people, they will ruin you.
  • Set goals, work hard to acheive them and NEVER let anyone tell you can't accomplish them.
  • Remember all the compliments you get. Forget the bad remarks.
  • Music is goooooood soul food.
  • Don't be afraid to love someone.
  • Don't be afraid to let someone love you.
  • ALWAYS put God first and EVERYTHING else will fall into place.

Finally here are my goals for the next 20 years:

  1. Attain a M.D/PhD degree.
  2. Be a successful Critcal Care Doctor specializing in Pulmonology.
  3. Marry my prince charming (If we find each other...) and have 2 children.
  4. Open a school for disadvantaged children where EVERYTHING will be free of cost to them.
  5. Write a novel.
